PROSPER Network Organization–the PNO

This organization coordinates the efforts of all PROSPER Partnership States and its Network Team provides ongoing training and technical assistance to maximize youth, family and community impact. Each State Partnership is connected to the PNO— the fourth tier of the delivery system. In collaboration with State management Teams, the PNO provides a vehicle to build capacity for reaching youth and families across the state with evidence-based prevention programming. In particular, over the last five years the PNO has strategically built its capacity to expand PROSPER into new states and into more communities within currently implementing states. This included a national assessment of every State’s readiness for implementing the PROSPER Delivery System. The PNO's work has been supported through substantial investments from the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and The Annie E. Casey Foundation.

New Research Endeavors

The PROSPER Network Organization is involved in new PROSPER-related research projects and collaborates with a variety of partners across the country.

PROSPER Partnerships to Support Military Families

PROSPER scientists at the PPSI are collaborating with researchers at RTI International in Raleigh, North Carolina to test an adapted version of the PROSPER Delivery System for use with military populations. This project also involves adapting the evidence-based Strengthening Families Program: For Parents and Youth 10-14, for use with military families. Click here to learn more about this exciting project.

Linking PROSPER with Public Health and Hospital Outreach Efforts—PROSPER Community Benefit

The PROSPER Network Organization is currently involved with a pilot project that will support the development of a hospital outreach network in collaboration with state and local departments of public health. Each participating state will begin with 1-3 leading hospitals having a one or two year capacity-building phase that evolves into a pilot implementation phase with 2-3 community sites. By expanding the current PROSPER Delivery System to include local hospital outreach, public health, and primary care service providers, we expect to increase positive adolescent and family health impacts, while addressing the community benefit requirements of the Affordable Care Act.
